The short version
Core PDF is offline-first. Your documents stay on your machine. We never upload, scan, or store the files you open, and licence checks carry no document data. The only information we hold is what we need to sell you a licence and support you.
Who is responsible
Randcore Development (Pty) Ltd, Johannesburg, South Africa, is the responsible party for the limited personal information described here, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Contact us at [email protected].
Your documents
The files you open in Core PDF are processed entirely on your own device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. There is no cloud storage and no content analysis.
What we do collect
- Account and licence details: your name and email when you buy or activate a licence, plus your plan, seat count and subscription status. We use these to issue your key, manage renewals, and support you.
- Payment details: card payments are handled by our provider, Paystack. We do not see or store your full card number. We keep a record of the transaction reference and amount.
- Crash reports: if the app crashes and you have crash reporting on (it is on by default and can be turned off in Settings), it sends an anonymised report to our own error tracker. Reports never include document contents, file names, or file paths, which are removed before anything is sent.
- Support messages: if you report a bug or request a feature, we keep your message and any diagnostic log you choose to attach (with the same redaction as above).
Who we share with
We share personal information only with the providers we need to run the service: Paystack for payments, and our email provider to send your licence key and support replies. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep account and transaction records for as long as you are a customer and for the period the law requires afterwards. Crash reports and support messages are kept only as long as they are useful for fixing problems.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email [email protected] and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes we will post the new version here with a new date. Material changes affecting subscribers will also be sent by email.
